While everyone who is reading this is (hopefully) interested in Astrology, I would guess that most of you are wanting to understand your Birth Chart in far more depth, but just can't find the time / structure / motivation to really make that a reality. So today I thought I would show you a wonderful Astrology hack that allows you to DEEPLY, intuitively understand your Chart - WITHOUT years of rigorous study. Here it is... Keep a daily journal of both your emotions and the Sign the Moon is in that day. "Yes yes," (you say) "I know that Virgo Moon days mean this and Scorpio Moon days mean that, but how does that help me understand my Chart?" Like this: Forget everything you know about the meaning of each Sign. Seriously. If you really want to understand your OWN Chart on a deep and meaningful level, think of this daily journal practice as more of a research project than an 'I'm supposed to know what this astrological energy means and then fit into it' practice. Here's how this works... Step 1 - For a few months in a row, write down your emotions (like everything, your highs, lows, important events, everything that counts as making you feel an emotion), and do this EVERY DAY. Step 2 - Then after you've gotten a notebook full of 'data,' go look up where the Moon was placed each of those days. (You can do this each day alongside step 1 if you like, or just write them all down in one go at the end of your data gathering period - which should be at least 3 months). Step 3 - Now see if there are any patterns between where the Moon was and how you felt each day. Note - The patterns that come up will be uniquely your own! So you might notice that you always have deep bonding days when the Moon is in Scorpio, or you instead might notice that you 'get shit done' on those days. Or you might notice that you're super scattered on Sagittarius Moon days, or melancholy on Capricorn Moon days - OR ANY ENDLESS NUMBER OF OTHER COMBINATIONS. Not everyone will experience the 'typical' energy for each Moon Sign - and in fact most people don't! (Typical examples - feeling sensitive on Cancer Moon days or feeling deep and brooding on Scorpio Moon days, etc). Why? Because we are made up of FAR MORE than just Zodiac Signs. So maybe for you, Scorpio Moon days mean that the Moon is traveling through your 5th House and conjuncting your Natal Jupiter - a much more fun-loving energy than your typical 'Moon in Scorpio' meme would have you think. Or maybe Pisces Moon days are your 'go out and get noticed' days because you have your Sun, Venus and Mars all in your Pisces 10th House. The Moon moves around our entire Chart every month, and every few days it highlights a different area. By keeping track of the patterns your emotions and daily happenings seem to cycle through, you'll be able to FEEL on a tangible level what each part of your Chart represents - without knowing a thing about your Chart! And even though, yes, there are many more patterns than just what the monthly Moon cycle shows, this practice helps you peek behind the curtain of your Soul Map (Birth Chart) and start understanding your chart on an experiential, in-your-bones knowing kind of way - which is infinitely more useful to plan your life around than Instagram memes :) Want to understand far more than just the Moon cycles' affects on your Chart?
