 Hey Old Souls, Today is a very special day for me, and hopefully, a soon to be healing one for you too. For today is the Full Moon in Pisces, the most healing and 'at-one-with' Sign of the Zodiac. A Full Moon in Pisces is a time of completing and honoring old wounds so you can finally heal them back into full integration. Its a time of letting go and letting the infinite, divine energy of the universe flow through you, allowing the culmination of a previous inspiration to be completed, and let go. But there's more to today's magic. This Full Moon also falls on Friday the 13th, a powerful day for celebrating the Divine Feminine. Why? Because Fridays are Venus's day (Freya in our Western Language), and 13 is the number of Lunar cycles in a year, hence a sacred number for all women as they too have 13 mystical cycles a year that connect them to the un-tamable awe of death and life's endless dance. And then, there's one more magical piece about today that makes it so special, specifically for me. It also conjuncts my 10th House Pisces Sun. How am I honoring this powerful day? By publishing my first book! And today on this culmination-of-healing Pisces Full Moon, I wanted to gift you with a sneak preview of the Pisces Archetype chapter. As you read it, allow the 'what Pisces is trying to teach you' energy flow through your actions today, and catch yourself when you notice yourself falling into the Pisces 'shadow side.' Pisces Archetype Pisces energy is dreamy, compassionate and healing. Pisces continues with the ‘Utopian Ideal’ of Aquarius, but now adds an intuitive, emotional and spiritual piece to the rigidness of the Aquarian ideal. Aquarius’s vision was for everyone to be free. Pisces vision is for everyone to be loved. Love is the be-all-end-all goal of Pisces, but not love in the ‘romantic partnership’ meaning, so much as the Divine Love that comes from a deep feeling of connection and ‘oneness’ with everyone.Another way to say this is that Pisces’ deepest need and greatest goal is to merge their Soul with as many people as they can so as to feel the ‘wholeness of creation’ once again. Pisces is the energetic bridge between this world and the next, and in a sense, anything in your Chart with this Piscean signature has one foot in both worlds. At its best, this ‘seeing beyond the veil’ allows Pisces energy to tap into otherworldly levels of compassion and unconditional love as they can so fully see and feel the truth that you are them and they are you (aka the oneness inherent in all). At its worst though, Pisces energy is like a chihuahua puppy in a dog fight - helpless, overwhelmed and looking for a way to escape the madness of it all. Secure / Ideal Expression / What Pisces Is Trying To Teach Us Pisces at its best is the divine knowing that ‘all is well and unfolding as it should.’ It’s a deep sense that everyone and everything is connected and playing some part in each other’s lives for the purpose of growth and healing, even if we might not always understand why. In short, it's a profoundly compassionate and non-dualistic viewpoint of the oneness of humanity, and how that oneness is only made fully whole and complete by the extreme variations of Souls that make it up. Ideal Pisces love is then truly unconditional, for it loves not only who you are, but also who you were, who you’re becoming, and who you desperately try to NOT be. Secure Pisces sees all these versions as equal, and treats each with an equally heaping dose of loving acceptance and care. Because Pisces energy knows your suffering is their suffering, and your joy is their joy. And while this oneness does indeed show up most profoundly with other people, Ideal Pisces’ ability to see the Divine Oneness in all things can also express itself in other ways. Art, poetry, music and dance are other means that Secure Pisces can show the interconnectedness between all things. Art created from this vision has the power to move us to tears as it in truth is a mirror to our Soul, and that deep recognition that you are not alone is the real reason why that piece of art touches you so deeply. To sum up, Ideal Pisces is the healing, unconditional love that softens all rough edges, and gently coaxes us to take off the masks we hide behind. This allows us to not only dissolve back into each other, but also back into the whole of the Divine Universe (as in the end, they are all one and the same). Insecure Expression / Shadow Side / What Causes Us To Suffer Pisces’ ‘Urge to Merge’ and ‘effortlessly sees the beauty in the wounds of others’ energies are ‘turned up to 11’ at all times, which, as you can probably guess, is not always a blessing. While other Signs have a strong ‘this is good / this is bad’ internal bias creator, Pisces energy has no such tool at its disposal, so like the chihuahua puppy in the dog fight ring, often finds itself in situations other Signs could easily avoid. For example, let's say there’s a crazy drunk guy yelling at you from across the street. Most people would look at that situation, acknowledge that that’s not something they should deal with, and then walk in the other direction. But Pisces energy with its ‘urge to merge’ and ‘sees the beauty in all flaws’ doesn’t have that objective viewpoint, and so instead will most likely resonate with the suffering of that angry drunk guy, and so go over and start talking to him. Some Insecure Pisces energy might even go so far as to fall in love and end up marrying that angry drunk guy, endlessly feeling compassion for his pain and endlessly trying to love him back to health and ‘oneness.’ But sometimes an angry drunk guy really should just be avoided, and so when Pisces finds itself in these ‘merging with the wrong people’ kinds of situations, the insecure Shadow side of Pisces rears its depressing little head. The gullible ‘naivete’ that gets taken advantage of. The martyr with poor boundaries. The delusional partner that has cemented on ‘rose colored glasses’ that filter over the fact that their spouse is an abusive alcoholic. These are the inevitable pitfalls of Shadow Pisces. And what happens once Insecure Pisces finally wakes up to its predicament? They sink into a pit of overwhelmed helplessness, feeling like ‘everything is out of their control,’ with the only solution (from their perspective) being to escape into an inner world of their own making. They themselves become the addict, feeling like that fantasy world they can escape into is at least closer to that Divine Oneness they so desperately crave compared to the harsh reality of their actual lives. And even though all this could so easily be avoided with a little knowledge of boundaries and self care, to Shadow Pisces, this is their fate, and never again will you be able to coax them out of their destructive escapism. For as fake and small as that escape world is, to Insecure Pisces, in that escapist addiction they’ve at least found something to finally lose themselves in, mind, body and Soul and become ‘one’ with. The Goal of Pisces Wherever Pisces falls in your Chart often starts off as an area that you don’t seem to have a lot of good boundaries with, so you often find yourself feeling overwhelmed and ‘out of control’ in that realm - with the accompanying likelihood of also initially finding ways to avoid or escape dealing with that area because of these feelings. But eventually that same area, once a bit of self care is learned, becomes an area of your life that you are most able to ‘connect to the divine oneness’ of everything through. It’s an area of your life that ‘all is well and unfolding as it should’ is a good mantra to live by. And if you can truly get behind that, it can also be the area of your life you have the greatest potential to tap into Divine Unconditional Love that you can use in service to others as well as on yourself as Pisces at its best can see that all are one and the same.
