Hey Old Souls,
Recently I was asked why I practice Western Astrology over Vedic Astrology, and as that is a very common question (as well as a very important decision to make when you begin your initiation into Astrology), I thought I would share with you my answer.
For those of you getting all excited to finally be given the 'one true answer' for this question, aka which one is the 'correct' one to practice, I'm afraid my answer is not going to be exactly what you want to hear....

Happy love day! Valentine's day is a favorite for some and loathed by others, mostly because it is all about love of your partner.
And while I for one am excited to pour an even bigger portion of love onto my sweetheart today, in truth, loving someone else is NEVER separate from loving yourself. (And if it is, you've entered Martyr country - never a fun of a place to be).
So for all of you budding Astrologers out there who may or may not have spent many many hours looking up compatibility markers in a new romance's chart (don't worry, I won't tell), I thought today I would go into the ACTUAL markers that show compatibility between two souls.

In all my years of talking to people about Astrology, I’ve found that most folks, quite frankly, completely miss the point of what Astrology actually is and does.
So today, I thought I would help clear things up a bit by going into the three main Astronomical misconceptions I’ve come across.
Misconception #1 - That Astrology literally tells you your fate, and
Let’s talk about our old friend, Shame.
Most of us old souls are very service-to-others oriented and I find that most people who are heavily oriented this way are often wracked with guilt and shame.
This is because we are painfully aware of just how far we all are from the compassionate ideal we
I have always been one to think for myself.
My mother often brings up the story of her and I, circa grade school, having the debate of what I should and shouldn’t wear to school. I loved loud patterns and fuzzy textures (still do) and during

During a walk my partner and I took today, we were talking about some repeating patterns that keep showing up. As we sat down on a bench, I asked him "So what do you see in all that?" Aaron, profound wise one that he is, said, "well I don't have an answer, but I do have a story."
I ended up finding the story so profound and enlightening that I wanted to share it. Below is that
My personal Spiritual path is the path of ‘No Shame.’ A very tricky path to be sure, but I’ve found it to be the most rewarding and enlightenment-inducing of them all.
I wanted to share some of my recent thoughts with you.
I’m noticing as we get deeper and deeper into Neptune’s transit through Pisces (which I’ll write a whole piece about soon (quick preview the last time for this transit was the lead up to the civil war)), I’m noticing more and more that people are, right and left, getting eaten alive by the
Today as the energy slows down to prepare for tomorrow’s Mercury Retrograde cycle, I feel a sign of relief as I start feeling the call to purge all those excess to-dos and mental expectations.
I always look forward to Mercury Retrogrades as they never fail to be mental ‘clean up’ periods that I always emerge from feeling clear headed, refocused and refreshed.
This upcoming Mercury Retrograde cycle, while promising all of the usual ‘mental clean up’ potentials, has another, deeper, level of clarity as a potential gift to give, if, and this is a big if, we
The other day I was asked a question that surprised me.
It didn't surprise me because it was a crazy question, it surprised me because I had never thought to
